Purpose:
Avenir Energy Ltd., together with its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, the “Company”, “we”, or “us”) is accountable for the personal information that we collect about you (as defined below) and is under our control.
We respect the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information provided by you or on your behalf. We are committed to keeping the personal information shared with us, whether over the Internet, on the telephone or in-person, confidential. The Company collects this information in order to provide the best and most complete services possible to you.
Scope and Application:
We have created this Privacy Policy in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to preserving privacy and confidentiality as it relates to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to you in the course of all of your dealings and interactions with the Company, including when you visit or interact with one of our websites, sign up to be a part of any of our programs, purchase, or inquire about our products, or receive any of our services (collectively, the “Services”) or apply for a job with us. This Privacy Policy does not apply to employees, whose personal information is governed by our internal policies.

Collection of Personal Information:

It is understood that in the province of Québec, personal information means any information which relates to a natural person and allows that person to be, directly or indirectly, identified. Even if business contact details and job title could fall within these definitions, this Privacy Policy does not apply to such information.
Personal information excludes anonymized data that is not, directly or indirectly, associated with a particular individual.
We may collect, store and use the following categories of personal information:

Registration Forms:
Our website may have registration forms requiring users to give us contact information, used to send users information about our Company, or to apply for open positions on our Careers page, provided they have indicated they would like to receive such material. SMS Notifications:
If you provide us with your mobile number, we use it to send SMS notifications and updates related to your use of our Services. Your number will only be used for sending informational messages (e.g., service alerts, reminders, or updates).
We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile number or opt-in data with any third parties for marketing or any other purpose. If you wish to stop receiving SMS messages, you may reply STOP at any time.
Blogs, Forums, and Other Social Media:
Our website may host various blogs, forums, and other social media applications or services that allow the sharing of content with other users. Any personal or other information contributed to social media can be read, collected, and used by other users over whom we have little or no control. Therefore, we are not responsible for any other user’s use, misuse, or misappropriation of any personal information or other information that is contributed to any social media application.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Our Privacy Policy does not extend to the data collection practices of third parties. The Company does not assume any responsibility for the privacy practices, policies, or actions of third parties.
Digital Monitoring:
In the course of conducting our business, we may monitor our facilities and equipment. Some Company locations are equipped with surveillance cameras. These cameras are generally in high-risk areas or plant sites. Where in use, surveillance cameras are there for the protection of Employees and third parties, and to protect against theft, vandalism and damage to Company goods and property. Generally, recorded images are routinely destroyed and not shared with third parties unless there is suspicion of a crime, in which case they may be turned over to the police or other appropriate government agency or authority. This is not meant to suggest that all individuals visiting our facilities will in fact be monitored or their actions will be subject to surveillance. It is meant to bring to your attention that such monitoring may occur and may result in the collection of personal information from you.

Data Retention:

Under some circumstances we may anonymize your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you directly or indirectly. If you are not satisfied with our handling of any privacy concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or with the Privacy Commissioners of Alberta, BC or Québec, as per your province of residence.
