Solutions for Your Business
What is Propane?
Used across industries from agriculture and hospitality to construction and manufacturing, propane is a highly adaptable fuel. It’s stored as a liquid but used as a gas – providing consistent heat and power wherever and whenever you need it.
Whether you’re heating a warehouse or barn, drying crops, or operating a commercial kitchen, propane offers a lower-emission alternative to diesel and electricity – with fewer interruptions and greater control over your operations.

Why businesses choose propane:
It’s not tied to the electrical grid, so your operations stay running during outages. It burns cleaner than gasoline or diesel. It’s reliable and cost-effective whether you manage a single site or multiple locations. Propane isn’t just fuel, it’s your advantage.

How Businesses Use Propane
From job sites to greenhouses, propane keeps your operations moving. No matter your industry, propane adapts to your energy needs with reliability and performance.

Agriculture & Farming
Heat greenhouses and barns with precision temperature control. Dry crops efficiently with propane-powered dryers. Fuel irrigation pumps and backup power systems.

Oil & Gas
Ideal for remote site operations where electric infrastructure is unavailable or unreliable.
Used for space heating, instrumentation, and line heaters.
Propane-powered generators offer backup power for critical equipment.

Industrial & Manufacturing
Propane-powered forklifts reduce emissions and improve indoor air quality. Equipment runs longer between refuels, minimizing downtime. Heat processes and space heating are more efficient, especially in large facilities.

Construction & Job Sites
Temporary propane heaters keep job sites warm, even in winter.
Propane-powered generators provide dependable, off-grid electricity.
Fuel delivery can be scheduled to align with your build timeline.

Hospitality & Food Service
Commercial-grade propane ranges and fryers deliver instant, consistent heat. Outdoor patio heaters extend your serving season. Backup propane generators keep your kitchen running - even when the grid goes down.
Propane Safety
At Avenir Energy, safe operations are our top priority. Propane is a clean, versatile and efficient energy source and one of the safest fuels available when used properly. We strongly recommend that you only have a qualified propane technician service your appliances and tanks. Never attempt repairs yourself. Call Avenir Energy and have one of our qualified technicians assess the situation.
Detecting a Propane Leak
Propane has mercaptan added to it giving it a distinct odor, often described as a “rotten egg” smell, which helps you quickly identify leaks. If you suspect a propane leak due to a persistent smell, follow these steps:
Don’t Panic
Leave the area immediately in an orderly manner if you suspect a propane leak.
Shut Off the Propane Supply
Turn off the tank supply by turning the handwheel clockwise (to the right) as far as possible unless the leak appears to be coming from that area.
Avoid Flames, Sparks and Electricity
Extinguish flames and do not use lights, appliances or phones.
Call for Help
Contact the fire department or dial 911 from a safe distance (at least 20 ft from the source of the leak).
Do not re-enter the area until it is deemed safe. Contact Avenir Energy to have a technician turn the propane back on to check and re-light your appliances.

Storm Safety
Before the Storm
Clear any debris surrounding your tank to avoid damage during severe weather.
After the Storm
Inspect your tank and appliances for any signs of damage. Keep a clear path to your propane tanks during the Winter months.
